“The Pineview Reservoir has been a favorite spot for water sports for years. It is a popular place for Triathletes to come and train for their races as well. However, on the past, athletes have had to worry about the boats when they would swim at Pineview, and would either need to come really early in the morning or hug the shoreline with their routes to stay safe. The new swim buoy area alleviated many of these worries by providing open water swimmers an area with a pre-measured course in a no wake zone of the lake where they don’t have to worry about those safety issues. It was made possible by several private donations and sponsors in the Davis/Weber County area. The area had increased the number of athletes that have been coming out to swim in weekly groups due to them feeling safer in the water.
